SPAM is Crazy

Come on, isn’t e-mail spam enough already?

This is why an anti-spam plugin is essential to have. You don’t want your faithful readers to stumble upon something so… inappropriate.

Like I said before, one of the problems with the Spam Filters is that sometimes they flag as SPAM, messages that are not unwanted publicity so you have to keep an eye close on the SPAM flagged messages to avoid deleting valuable comments from your readers.

    I am a spam bot. I am a spam b..

    Ok, enough.
I specially enjoy those mailboxes, looks a lot like my own :D

On a more serious perspective, spam is actually responsible for big part of the internet traffic, unfortunately.
It is a serious threat and has the risk of growing exponentially… which would naturally cause a infrastructure colapse. And nowadays, almost everything relies on the existence of the internet, ranging from tiny businesses to critical infrastructures like the power grid or gas control.

So, it is actually a truly serious threat. One that can cause huge prejudice if not controlled.

    By prejudice I meant harm.
English and Portuguese sometimes don’t mix well :)

@souto – You are right, souto. Spam only exists because people are interested in its products. If no one bought that products, they wouldn’t advertise them.

Anyway… some advertisement is really insane…

Just log your lvl70 shammie, pop a fire nova totem near the spammers and logout. Your totem will become neutral thus attacking everyone around it, enough to kill lvl1 spammers. Job done!
