I was already a fan and user of Comodo Firewall. Comodo Firewall it’s effective, full of features and best of all… it’s free.
Six Months after the release of Ubuntu 8.04 and following the release schedule strictly, Ubuntu latest brother arrives, called 8.10 or Intrepid Ibex. If you think this is a weird name wait till Ubuntu 9.04 or… Jaunty Jackalope arrives!
I haven’t tried Ubuntu 8.10 yet, but Ubuntu is one of my favorite Linux Distros. It’s one of the most user friendly distributions, it’s based on Debian (gotta love apt-get) and the best of all it’s the HUGE community behind it. Anything you need it’s probably already solved in the Official Forums.

Gimp 2.6.0 was today released on Gimp.org. Gimp as always been a nice alternative to Photoshop. It’s free, it’s opensource and it works, what else can we ask? Of course it’s not the powerhouse of Adobe Photoshop but it’s enough if you’re not a demanding professional or a photographer looking to retouch some photos.

Yay, another Version of Photoshop to play with… Not only Photoshop but all his brothers: Illustrator CS4, InDesign CS4, Dreamweaver CS4, Flash CS4 Professional, Premiere Pro CS4, After Effects CS4, Soundbooth CS4 and Device Central CS4.
Prices as we all know and are used to are over the top. Price for the Adobe Creative Suite 4 is around € 3,598.80. Photoshop alone costs US$699. Ouch!

So you have heard about the release of a new web browser by Google. I’ve blogged it, everyone blogged it! So now that the news aren’t news any more have you actually tried it? Are you satisfied with your current browser that you haven’t even considered trying Chrome? I’ve tried and have some ideas about it already. I know Chrome is in its early stages but it’s already a steady piece of software if you ask me.

Extend Firefox 3 is a developer contest to encourage development and innovation in Web experience through add-ons to Firefox 3.
Extend Firefox 3 has wrapped up and we’re very excited to announce the winners! We received well over 100 entries, representing hundreds of hours of hard work from people around the world.
This contest had an extraordinary group of judges of which we would like to thank, including Dr. Jun Murai, Toby Padilla, Gina Trapani, Brendan Eich, Mike Connor, Mike Beltzner and our sponsors, including Last.fm, ActiveState, and VMWare.
Many of these extensions are in their early stages of experimental development, however we have seen some powerful new tools and prototypes that we are excited to share. It was hard to determine the winners, but at last, here they are.
