The opening ceremony in the 2008 Beijing olympics were astonishing, a total feast for the eyes. To save those moments for eternity the Boston Globe bring us some amazing photos from the ceremony.

Beijing held its formal opening ceremony today for the 2008 Summer Olympics. The ceremony, held in the National Stadium known as the Bird’s Nest, was attended by thousands, and watched by millions more on television. Below are some highlights of the nearly 4-hour performance. (24 photos total).

Well, judging by the poll results till date here on Painbits, Portugal seems to have a good chance to win the European Championship this year.

I’m supporting Portugal, for obvious reasons, though I think Italy and German will be very strong adversaries, and we can’t forget Italy is the current World Champion.

As you probably know if you have seen TV in the last months at least once, this year takes place in Austria and Switzerland the Euro 2008 Football Championship.

What I ask you is something simple: Who do you think it’s the favorite to win this year. Myself as a Portuguese I will support my nation, even tho I don’t have high hopes in a final win.
