Star Wars: The Old Republic
Right now the annual E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo), one of the biggest Video Game Expo is taking place in Los Angeles. I was browsing through some game trailers when I saw the upcoming MMO by Byoware, Star Wars: The Old Republic, based on the published Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (or KOTOR for its friends).
I’ve only played a bit of KOTOR, but played several games by Byoware and I gotta say they are my favourite RPG software house along with Blizzard. Baldur’s Gate was awesome, Neverwinter Nights also and the most recent Mass Effect that seems like an amazing game.
Star Wars is not my favorite universe but everyone likes light sabers, Yoda or even the Dark Side! But the real reason I’m writing this is the trailer. I’ve seen it and I was blown away. I think it’s the best game intro I’ve ever seen. Judge by yourself it’s really worth it.

Agreed the trailer is stunningly well made. There’s a hint of plaguerism visible especially when the lightsaber drops to the ground…lord of the rings very much. But yes, despite still not having played Kotor – for which do loathe myself – this might prove interesting. Though I’m keeping my pants on and holding my horses until we actually see anything but a movie made to sell.
Well, we know a bit more about this here game already, including a nice set of short videos showing some in game action.
