Google Wave Invites Giveaway

Google Wave

Have you heard of one of the latest Google’s projects? It’s called Google Wave, well if you haven’t stay tuned. Google Wave is still in Preview Release since September 2009 to date. Google Wave is “a personal communication and collaboration tool”. To be honest I haven’t explored it much since I got an invite, but from what I’ve been reading it has a lot of potential, specially because once again it was released as Open Source.

Google Wave

Google Wave is not properly fresh news, but since I only got the invite to it recently I’m writing this post to inform you, but more than that, to give you 1 of my 5 invites, but first read what Google is all about, if you interested I’ll send an invite for the first 5 requests in the comments.

So what is Google Wave?

Google Wave is a real-time communication platform. It’s a Web platform that combines elements like e-mail, real time communications, wiki and social networking. It has other advanced features like instant spell check, instant translation between languages, extensions, etc. Mashable gives us a nice summarization of it:

Google Wave has a lot of innovative features, but here are just a few:

Real-time: In most instances, you can see what someone else is typing, character-by-character.

Embeddability: Waves can be embedded on any blog or website.

Applications and Extensions: Just like a Facebook (Facebook) application or an iGoogle gadget, developers can build their own apps within waves. They can be anything from bots to complex real-time games.

Wiki functionality: Anything written within a Google Wave can be edited by anyone else, because all conversations within the platform are shared. Thus, you can correct information, append information, or add your own commentary within a developing conversation.

Open source: The Google Wave code will be open source, to foster innovation and adoption amongst developers.

Playback: You can playback any part of the wave to see what was said.

Natural language: Google Wave can autocorrect your spelling, even going as far as knowing the difference between similar words, like “been” and “bean.” It can also auto-translate on-the-fly.

Drag-and-drop file sharing: No attachments; just drag your file and drop it inside Google Wave and everyone will have access.

So, if after reading this you’re interested in one invite, ask it below in the comments section. I only have 8 available, so be quick. The first 8 by order will get it. I don’t have much yet to review Google Wave, from the first impressions I don’t think it deserves all the wipe given to it in the last months, but after all it’s a Google product and everything with a Google Tag on it will always be a major success from now on.
