Steve Ballmer and Linux

It seems that for Steve Ballmer Linux poses a bigger threat to Microsoft than Apple itself. While Windows dominates the Market share without a doubt in second comes the unlicensed copys of Microsoft Windows and in third Linux distributions followed closely by Apple Operating Systems.

I have to say I’m a bit sceptical about this information. Seems like the intent of the piechart is to only show how widely spread Windows is, even the pirated versions are counted.
Well how the – excuse my french – fuck do they think it’s something to be counted? Maybe because it makes for a more attractive chart? It’s a manipulated way of presenting their own status in a better light through means that’s quite the opposite. I applaude who ever came up with it.

I’m not having any of that donut to be honest. Only reason I use WinBlows is because there really aren’t good alternatives for gaming. Which is a rather sentiment in regards to the other two possibilities and also the position M$ have been able to climb into.
Of course all this cynicism doesn’t mean I hate Windows or Microsoft, I just think that their utter domination of the market should be frowned upon, as with any other business in a similar position.
Would make for a funny chart to make a prediction of the future where Microsofts worst rival was it’s own software “unlicensed”.

mindseas, Microsoft is popular for letting their own SO being pirated trough out several years. They know most of the people use Pirated copies, they didn’t care for long, that way they could penetrate the market in a super effective way. Now they are starting to think in ways to fight it. Now that they “educated” to think only with Windows.
