kreUI

My World of Warcraft user interface – UI! By request of some people, here I am publishing and wiriting about my user interface, the addons that I use and the configuration I’ve made for almost all my chars. First and foremost understand that a user interface is a very personal thing, that is why there is almost no one that likes Blizzard’s default interface. It’s not because it is that bad, it just doesn’t fit people personal taste. Ok, it is a bit bad, but mostly because information is too dispersed around the screen.
In my opinion every UI needs to follow five rules:
1. Aesthetically pleasing
2. Usability concerned
3. Informatively rich
4. Low memory footprint
5. User personalized
I tried to achieve all this with my UI. With this said, let’s get into the real deal…
The UI
Screenshots
Below you can see a preview of the UI in a Raid environment and in solo.
If you want to see the names of the elements in the UI, check my Interface Anatomy.
There is a few instructions you need to know before using the UI. It’s very important that you read and follow them.
Installation
1. Backup your Fonts, WTF, and Interface folders. Delete the originals.
2. Copy contents of KreUI into your WoW directory.
3. Rename YOURACCOUNTNAME, YourServerName, and YourCharacterName to the appropriate names.
4. Make additional copies of YourCharacterName for every character you want to use the UI for.
5. Re-install any additional mods from your backup Interface folder.
6. Log in, check your enabled mods list, fix any layout problems that you see ingame.
7. There are some addons that you will need to load the respective profile (Elun in most cases), so start by doing this:
- /bt > Load Elun Profile
- /sldt > Load Elun Profile
- /sexycooldown > Load Elun Profile
- /gladius hide (Hide it or config it later by running /gladius config)
- /classtimer > Load Elun Profile
- /trinketmenu config > config the trinket addon.
- /grid config > Load Elun Profile.
This migh will make things very similar to what you see in my screenshot.

Notes
- By the time you download this pack, some of the addons might have been updated, so check the usual places for addons updates (I use WoWInterface and Curse).
- Some configuration might (100% sure it will) be necessary to ensure it keeps close in appearance to my UI. Try to configure it yourself before asking any questions, some addons might just require you to load the right profile (Elun in most cases, Default on others). This compilation was made to fit a 1600×1200 resolution, so if your resolution is different in most cases you will have at least to change the width of KG Panels.
- Some addons like oUF_Hypocrisy were modified by me, so keep in mind that updating this or other addons might break the original look. The addons you should not update yourself are: oUF_Hypocrisy and rBuff.
- Check the list of addons I’ve listed here. See what addons you might not need and deactivate / delete them. Follow each addon link if you want to know how each one works individually.
- I would personally suggest to deactivate Questhelper if you are already hight level, specially if you do some Raiding, as Questhelper is a bit of a resource hog.
Changelog
- Nothing yet!
